The Douglas College Faculty Association
represents Instructors, faculty at Douglas College. The Association is
the bargaining agent for its members and acts to promote the welfare and
professional interests of its members in a variety of ways:
- It defends
academic freedom and the independence of thought and teaching.
- It negotiates
all matters related to wages, benefits and working conditions.
- It works to
ensure that faculty interests are represented in all aspects of the
college governance structure.
- It represents
members in their dealings with management or who are facing discipline
by management.
- It advises and
represents members in regard to complaints originating under college
policy.
- It advocates
for faculty interests and view within the college community.
- It builds
partnerships with other labour, educational and community groups.
